To create an update Firmware CD, a CD-RW drive and a blank CD-R disc are required. If you do not have access to a CD-RW drive, please contact Gateway Technical Support. Identification This firmware update is for Gateway DVD Player model number LD220, part number 7004670. The model number is located under the Gateway logo on the left side of the player. Installation 1. Download, and then double-click the 7514027.exe file. 2. The needed files are extracted to the C:\cabs\7514027 folder. 3. Browse to the C:\cabs\7514027 folder. Using whatever method you have available, such as Roxio software or Microsoft(r) Windows(r) XP integrated support, copy all the files in the 7514027 folder to a CD-R. 4. After the files are copied, place the disc in the LD-220 player, but do not close the tray. 5. Using the power button on the front, turn off the DVD player and then turn it on again. 6. The update automatically starts. Do not turn off the DVD player or press any buttons while the update proceeds. 7. When the update is complete, the DVD player turns off automatically. 8. Turn on the DVD player, and then remove the disc. Removal Because this is a firmware update and not a driver, there is no removal process. Troubleshooting If you have difficulty updating the firmware, confirm that all the files from the C:\cabs\7514027 folder are copied to the CD-R media. Reason for Update Resolves buffer issues. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
