Overview

This is a P06 BIOS for the Bryant motherboard.

Identification

Turn on your computer, and then press the F1 key while it is starting up.  In the BIOS Setup Utility, verify that the BIOS version reads WL81020A.15A.0007.P0x (where x is variable).


Installation

Before updating your computer's BIOS, read the following:

1.  Prepare your computer.
2.  Copy the files.
3.  Perform the update.

1.  Prepare your computer.

    Note: Before you update the BIOS on your computer, enter the current BIOS Setup Utility, and then write down the settings.

2.  Copy the files.

 a.  After you have the file downloaded, locate and double-click it.

 b.  The files you need extract into the folder C:\Driver\7509861.

 c.  On your screen, locate and double-click the My Computer icon.

 d.  In the My Computer window, double-click C:.

 e.  In the next window, double-click the Drivers folder.  If you cannot see any files, click View the entire contents of the drive.
 
 f.  In the next window, double-click the 7509861 folder.

 g.  In the next window, from the Edit menu, click Select All.  Open the Edit menu again, and then click Copy.

 h.  Close all windows.

 i.  Insert a blank floppy disk into the floppy disk drive.

 j.  On your screen, locate and double-click the My Computer icon.

 k.  In the My Computer window, double-click A:.

 l.  From the Edit menu, click Paste.

 m.  The BIOS update files are copied to the floppy disk.

3.  Perform the update.

 a.  Restart the computer with the disk in the floppy disk drive.

 b.  An Intel Flash Memory update utility screen appears.  Press the ENTER key.

 c.  On the next screen, Update Flash memory area is selected.  Press ENTER.
 
 d.  On the next screen, Update System BIOS is selected.  Press ENTER.

 e.  On the next screen, use the DOWN ARROW key to select P04-0006.BIO, and then press ENTER.

 f.  On the next screen, press ENTER.

 g.  The message "BIOS update is now in progress don't press any key or turn off the system at this time" appears.

 h.  After the update is finished, press ENTER.

 i.  Remove the disk from the floppy disk drive, and then restart the computer.

 j.  While restarting, the computer may give a BIOS configuration message.  Press F1 to enter the BIOS Setup Utility.

 k.  In the BIOS Setup Utility, press the F10 key, and then press ENTER to save and to exit.

 l.  The BIOS update is complete.

Removal

Troubleshooting

If the BIOS update does not install, download the file again, and then ensure that all installation steps in this document are followed.
