Overview

This is a P09 BIOS for the Keystone motherboard.


Identification

Use the following steps to identify if this is the correct BIOS file for your computer.

If your computer is turned off:

1.  Turn on the computer, and begin pressing the F1 key in one-second intervals to enter the BIOS Setup Utility.

2.  In the BIOS Setup Utility, look near the bottom of the screen for the BIOS version line.  It needs to read 0AAWVPxx (x = variable characters).

3.  If this is correct, this is the correct BIOS update for your computer.  

Note:  The BIOS version prefix 0AAWVP must be exact.  If it is not exact, do not execute the BIOS update.  

If your computer is in Windows:

1.  From the Start menu, click Shut Down.

2.  In the Shut Down Windows dialog box, select Restart, and then click OK.

3.  When the screen goes black, begin pressing the F1 key in one-second intervals to enter the BIOS Setup Utility.

4.  In the BIOS Setup Utility, look near the bottom of the screen for the BIOS version line.  It needs to read 0AAWVPxx (x = variable characters).

5.  If this is correct, this is the correct BIOS update for your computer.

Installation

Before updating your computer's BIOS, review the following sections of this document:

Preparing Your Computer

Before you update your computer's BIOS, enter the current BIOS Setup Utility and write down the current settings.

Copying the BIOS Update Files to a Floppy Disk

1.  Download the BIOS update file, and then locate and double-click it.

2.  Files are extracted to the C:\Cabs\7511503 folder.

3.  Double-click the My Computer icon.

4.  In the My Computer window, double-click the drive C icon.

5.  Double-click the Cabs folder.

6.  Double-click the 7511503 folder.

7.  In the C:\Cabs\7511503 window, from the Edit menu, click Select All.

8.  From the Edit menu, click Copy.

9.  Close all windows.

10.  Insert a blank floppy disk into the floppy disk drive.

11.  Double-click the My Computer icon.

12.  In the My Computer window, double-click the drive A icon.

13.  From the Edit menu, click Paste.

14.  The BIOS update files are copied to the floppy disk.


Performing the Update

1.  Restart you computer with the disk containing the BIOS update files in the floppy disk drive.

2.  The BIOS update begins automatically.  Files are erased from and written to the hard disk.

3.  After the update finishes and the computer is at an A:\ prompt, remove the disk from the floppy disk drive.

4.  Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to restart your computer.

5.  When the screen goes black, begin pressing the F1 key in one-second intervals to enter the BIOS Setup Utility.

Note: You may receive the following message:

"CMOS Settings Wrong. Press F1 to run setup."

Press F1.

6. In the BIOS Setup Utility, press the F10 key, and then press the ENTER key to exit saving changes.


Reason for Update

Resolves issue with Hibernation and S1.  
Removes pressing the F9 key when there is a CMOS checksum error.  
Shortens mouse error handling routine.  
Adds support for logo flashing, Boot Block Fault Tolerance, and saving System and Chassis. 
Added F12 hot-key network startup support.
Remote Lockout support added.
Security freeze implemented.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
