Identification ============== Use the following steps to confirm that this is the correct BIOS update for your motherboard. If the computer is turned off: 1. Turn on the computer, and press the F1 key in one-second intervals. If you perform this step correctly, the BIOS Setup Utility menu opens. If Windows loads normally, restart the computer and repeat this Step. 2. In the BIOS Setup Utility, on the Main tab, look at the BIOS version for the current version. The version needs to be CB81010A.15A.00xx.Pxx (where xx is a numeric value relative to the BIOS version). 3. If the BIOS version prefix is CB81010A, you have the correct BIOS update. Press the F10 key to exit the BIOS Setup Utility. If the computer is turned on and in Windows: 1. From the Start menu, click Shut Down. In the Shut Down Windows dialog box, select Restart, and then click OK. 2. As soon as the computer restarts, press the F1 key in one-second intervals. If you perform this step correctly, the BIOS Setup Utility menu opens. If Windows loads normally, restart the computer and repeat this Step. 3. In the BIOS Setup Utility, on the Main tab, look at the BIOS version for the current version. The version needs to be CB81010A.15A.00xx.Pxx (where xx is a numeric value relative to the BIOS version). 4. If BIOS CB81010A.15A.00xx.Pxx is displayed, you have the correct BIOS update. Press the F10 key to exit the BIOS Setup Utility. Installation ============ Preparing your computer Before updating your computer's BIOS, enter the current BIOS Setup Utility and write down each of the current settings. After performing the BIOS Update, all parameters of the BIOS are reset to their default values. Resetting the parameters to the desired user values is necessary. A blank floppy disk is required to initiate the BIOS update. Copying the files 1. From the Start menu, click Run. 2. In the Run dialog box, in the Open text box, type the path and location of the 7510446.EXE file, for example, C:\Cabs\7510446.exe. Click OK. The files are extracted to the C:\Cabs\7510446 directory. 3. On the desktop, double-click the My Computer icon. 4. In the My Computer window, double-click drive C, and then double-click the Cabs folder. If you do not see any files, click View the entire contents of the drive. 5. In the Cabs folder, double-click the 7510446 folder. 6. In the 7510446 folder, on the Edit menu, click Select All. 7. On the Edit menu, click on Copy. 8. Close all open programs and all open windows. 9. Insert a blank, formatted floppy disk into the floppy disk drive. 10. On the desktop, double-click the My Computer icon. 11. In the My Computer window, double-click drive A. 12. In the A: folder, on the Edit menu, click Paste. This copies all of the files from the C:\Cabs\7510446 directory on the hard disk drive to the floppy disk. Performing the update 1. Restart the computer with the floppy disk in the floppy disk drive. From the Start menu, click Shut Down. 2. In the Shut Down Windows dialog box, select Restart, and then click OK. 3. A BIOS Update Information screen appears. Press any key to continue. 4. The Intel Flash Memory Update Utility automatically initiates and updates the BIOS. Upon completion of the update, the computer restarts. 5. When the computer restarts, remove the floppy disk from the drive. 6. As soon as the computer restarts, press the F1 key in one-second intervals. If you perform this step correctly, the BIOS Setup Utility menu opens. If Windows loads normally, restart the computer and repeat this Step. 7. In the BIOS Setup Utility, on the Main tab, look at the BIOS version for the current version. The version needs to be CB81010A.15A.0026.P05. If any of the values are different than identified above, the BIOS update did not execute properly. Troubleshooting =============== If the BIOS update does not install properly, download the file again, and then repeat the installation procedures. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
