Installation:
-------------
Absolute minimum system requirements

Windows® XP mit Service Pack 2 
Minimum 256 MB RAM (recommended 512 MB) 
CPU 1.2GHz or faster 

please close all applications before starting the set-up.exe 
This includes any virus scanners. 

Unzip the set-up.exe file and double click the icon to start. 
Follow the instructions on the splash-screen and the Windows device manager. For each "Windows Logo Test" message, always choose "continue installation". 

PLEASE NOTE

1. During the installation you will be prompted to switch the BCA2000 off, and later on again. 
The installation will not procede unless you follow these prompts. 

2. After the driver files have been copied to your PC, and you have switched on the BCA2000, the Windows Device Manager will start its own installation routine. There is no need to interrupt this routine or restart the computer - simply follow the instructions of the Device Manager (automatic installation). 

3. If you are prompted to search the internet for drivers, please select "no, not this time" (third option) 

4. For each "Windows Logo Test" message, always choose "continue installation". 

5. The Windows installation routine will be run three times in total. After the Windows installation is completed please close the "set-up.exe" program. The BCA2000 is now ready for use. 

6. The entire installation is repeated on selection of "forced" USB1.1 Mode


Forced USB1.1 Mode (Full Speed) 
-------------------------------------------- 

This mode is available on all modern USB2.0 host computers. Older hosts will support the "true" USB1.1 mode only. 

You can select this mode on the USB-INFO page in the BCA2000 control panel. 
It is necessary to restart the BCA2000 to force USB1.1. 
The first time you do this, the device will re-install automatically. 
There is no need to re-run the set-up.exe
When switching between modes, please be absolutely sure that there are no other applications open during the installation. 

Some functions are not available in USB1.1 mode (eg. SMUX or 96kHz operation) 
The associated buttons are deactivated in the control panel.

WDM-Page:

Please note that all settings on this page affect only the WDM driver (in both USB Modes) 

These settings are "recommendations" for the Windows Operating System. 
These settings may be overriden by Windows® or by the host audio software.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
