Action Word Chants


In other lessons, we worked with sounds that repeat, repeat, repeat themselves. We used animal and eating sounds as the chant lines in our poems.

Now we are going to think, think, think, about actions, actions, actions, that repeat, repeat, repeat. For example, people walk, walk, walk, and people talk, talk, talk.

When people eat they chew, chew, chew, and when they drink they may gulp, gulp, gulp, or sip, sip, sip.

When you ride a bicycle, you pedal, pedal, pedal. When you play handball, you hit, hit, hit the ball. Then the ball goes bounce, bounce, bounce.
