Liz finally spits out what she thinks. She says: "All that 'trusting' stuff sounds dull."

Character ED says, "Liz, you have a point. A list of good things can sound dull."

"Whaaat?"

Whatever does Character ED mean? Do good things sound dull? Do some of these so-called, good-sounding things sound dull? Type the word "dull" next to things you feel, think, or believe are dull. Add your own dull things to the list:

doing homework
going fishing
cleaning your room
going hiking
playing monopoly
going shopping

"Some so-called good things may sound dull, but may not be dull. It depends on what you feel, think, or believe about them." 

"Oh, no!" says Liz, "Not more thinking and feeling!"

"Yeah," says Character ED. "What we think, feel, or believe about a thing can make it dull--or okay--or even fun. Our attitude makes the difference."

Name one thing you feel not only sounds dull and boring but is dull and boring--always, and every time you do it!

"Wow!" says Character ED. "That's got to be really dull and boring!" Most people (maybe all people!) do some things they find dull and boring.

Home on Saturday

If babies could talk, baby might say
"Most boring for me is eating peas."
Billy can talk, and Billy believes
It will never be fun to pick up his toys.
Bonnie says, "I've got the neatest plan,
I do toys; Billy cleans the garbage can!"
"I'll eat peas, do toys, and garbage," says Mom
"If you pay bills, dust, shop, scrub, vacuum..."
"All right!" says Dad--"I'll do all of those chores,
"And more,...if all of you smile, and just shut the door!"
