Did you read about Walt Disney in the Birthday file? If you hear the name Walt Disney, you probably think of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, or maybe Snow White.

In this activity, you'll choose a Disney character to write a winter poem about. For example, here's a little puzzle poem about a Disney character. Which one? If you complete the puzzle poem, you'll know!

The air is frosty
The trees are bare
Winter creatures
Wear lots of <  >!

Through a little hole
Into a little house
Without stopping runs
A big-eared <  >.

Set a trap?
Get a cat?
It's no use!

I know. Get glue

Write Verse 5 for the poem. (You might tell what happens when Mickey gets turned out into the cold.)

Scroll up and read the poem again. Notice that it tells a story like a Disney cartoon. Try to picture the scene as you read each verse.

Choose another Disney character. Write your own four-line verses to picture the character and the scene using a winter theme. Or, you and your writing partner can take turns writing the verses.
