Name: < > Class: < > Date: < > Transitions I Transition words help your ideas flow in a logical way. Add these words in a paragraph to help the reader understand what you are writing about. In the following activity, you will add some transition words to paragraphs that need them. A. Chronological Transitions A chronological paragraph describes events in time order. Choose words from the word bank below and insert them into the three paragraphs which follow. These words should help the reader follow the sequence. Word Bank - Chronological Words after after that at last before finally again first later next second then third Paragraph 1 "Well, here I go," Julie whispered firmly to herself. "I walk to the edge of the diving board. I turn around and balance on my toes with my heels in the air. I hold my arms down at my sides. I push off, arch my back, and raise my arms. I enter the water straight as a silent arrow." Name and save this file now. She pops the potatoes back into the oven. When they are done, they are twice-baked potatoes. ==================== Now write your own chronological paragraph.
