I Am the Hero/Heroine of a Tall Tale

In Pippi Longstocking's adventures, we learned that a child can be the heroine or hero of a tall tale. We also learned that when John Henry and Paul Bunyan were just babies, they were tall tale heroes already. Some of the very best tall tales are about tall tale characters as children. That means you can be a wonderful tall tale hero or heroine!

Every story, including a tall tale, has a "plot." The plot is the series of events that takes place in the story. It can include a problem that has to be solved. If the story you write is going to be interesting, you, with your super powers and abilities, would be the best person -- or the only person -- who could solve the problem. The plot needs to be appropriate for the location, or the place, where the story takes place.

Close your eyes and imagine a plot for your story. Remember, the plot is simply a list of events that will take place in your story. It can include a problem you are going to solve.
