Transitions II

As you learned in the previous file, transitions help your ideas flow in a logical way. Sometimes adding these words to sentences in a paragraph helps the reader to better understand what you are writing about.

In the Transitions I activity you learned about chronological and spatial transitions. In this section, you will learn about and practice using four other kinds of transitions: examples, cause-and-effect, comparison, and contrast.

A. Example Transitions

In writing a paragraph, you may sometimes want to give examples that describe or support the topic. In this activity, you will practice working with example transitions.
