Changing Feelings

Feelings are a part of everything you think and do. Sometimes feelings give you confidence. Sometimes they confuse you. In this activity, you will explore your feelings.

List all the feelings you can think of. You may want to list pairs of feelings. For example,

love	hate
happy	sad

My Feelings

Name and save this file now. (Press ctrl+S, type a name for the file, and press enter.)

====================

Although feelings themselves are not "good" or "bad," they sometimes seem that way! Choose three "good" feelings. Then finish the sentences below as completely as you can. Provide lots of details. For example,

I feel loving when I'm at the beach with a friend and we have plenty of good snacks to eat and the sun is shining and the radio is on our favorite station.

"Good" Feelings I Have

I feel <  > when <  >.

I feel <  > when <  >.

I feel <  > when <  >.

====================

Now do the same thing for three "bad" feelings.

"Bad" Feelings I Have

I feel <  > when <  >.

I feel <  > when <  >.

I feel <  > when <  >.

====================

Changing Bad to Good

The "bad" feelings you wrote about above can be changed into "good" feelings. Scroll back to your sentences and change each of your three "bad" feelings into "good" feelings.

For example:

I feel lonesome when I don't have any friends to play with.

Might become:

I feel lonesome when I don't have any friends to play with, <so then I play some music and I feel better.>

If you haven't done so already, name and save this file now. (Press ctrl+S, type a name for the file, and press enter.)
