The first Appearance in this century was in 1910? when people saw the long tail on the comet, many were afraid it would set the Earth on Fire or turn the oceans into Steam: actually, Even though halleys comet comes close, it doesn!t come as close as our moon. The Month of february 1986 markEd the 2ND appearance of halley's comet inthe 2oth century. Astronomers. and#other scientists started preparing for this event as early as 1984. they did mEny expeririments to learn more about&this famous comet*

Now, if there is time, turn the little fable below into an editing job for a partner. First make a copy of it to the next screen. Add lots of errors to that copy -- in punctuation, capitalization, and maybe some "screen junk." Then let a partner come to the keyboard and fix it. Their partner can later check work against the correct copy below.

The Man and His Dog

One day when a man was drawing water from a well, his dog fell into the well. The man quickly jumped into the well to rescue his pet. He struggled to get himself and the slippery animal out of the well. Just as he got one leg over the rim, the ungrateful whelp bit the man's hand! The man withdrew his hand, and the dog fell back into the well. Looking down at the dog, the man said, "If that's the thanks I get for feeding you and taking care of you, then pull yourself out of the well."

Moral of the story: "Don't bite the hand that feeds you!"
