Easter Bunny

Since very early times people have thought of the rabbit, or hare, as a symbol of fertility, or new life. In some countries -- Egypt, Japan, China -- the rabbit is also a symbol of the new moon. A new moon brings a new life cycle for all of nature, and for you and me, too.

Now, how do you suppose "rabbits" turned into Easter Bunnies???


Prewrite

With your classmates or a writing partner, brainstorm about:

- how an Easter bunny looks.
- what an Easter bunny carries.
- where an Easter bunny goes.
- how the Easter bunny gets there.
- who waits for the Easter bunny.
- what the Easter bunny leaves.
- what's inside what the Easter bunny leaves.
- what you like best about the Easter bunny.
- what you like least about the Easter bunny.
- why you think rabbits got to be Easter bunnies.
