***************************************************************************** BLDSOL.TXT ***************************************************************************** SDMS PCI SYMHISL Driver Update Building the SYMHISL Driver Update Diskette To create a SYMHISL diskette for Solaris 7 or Solaris 8 installations, copy the raw symitu.dd image file onto a 1.44 Mbytes diskette. This process is dependent upon the operating system that you are using to create this diskette. Refer to the instructions for UNIX System or DOS and Windows System Users. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * For UNIX System Users Follow these steps to create the SYMHISL Driver Update diskette: 1. Insert a 3.5-inch diskette into the floppy drive. 2. At the UNIX prompt, type: #volcheck -v #dd if=/<path>/symitu.dd of=/vol/dev/aliases/floppy0 bs=36k #eject floppy The <path> is where the dd image is located. The SDMS Software Device Drivers and Utilities CD-ROM contains the symitu.dd image file in this directory: {UNIX CD-ROM path}/drivers/unixes/solaris/solaris7 or {UNIX CD-ROM path}/drivers/unixes/solaris/solaris8 This command will dd the image to the diskette to create a SYMHISL Driver Update diskette. 3. Label this diskette SYMHISL Driver Update. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * For DOS and Windows System Users 1. Use a utility that will copy the raw dd image onto a 1.44 Mbytes diskette. FDIMAGE.EXE is a public domain utility and is available on this SDMS CD-ROM. Instructions for using this utility are included in its accompanying FDIMAGE.TXT file. 2. The SDMS Software Device Drivers and Utilities CD-ROM contains the SYMITU.DD image file in this directory: {CD-ROM Drive Letter}:\DRIVERS\UNIXES\SOLARIS\SOLARIS7 or {CD-ROM Drive Letter}:\DRIVERS\UNIXES\SOLARIS\SOLARIS8 3. FDIMAGE.EXE is located in this directory on the SDMS CD-ROM: {CD-ROM Drive Letter}:\DRIVERS\UNIXES\FDIMAGE.EXE After the image has been copied to a 3.5-inch diskette, use this SYMHISL Driver Update diskette for Solaris 7 or Solaris 8 installations as instructed.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
