LSI Logic SDMS 4.0 PCI SCO UnixWare C8XX HBA Diskette Building Instructions: To create a C8XX HBA disk to use with UnixWare 2.1 and UnixWare 7, you must copy the raw dd image file onto a 1.44 MB floppy. The process for doing this will depend on what operating system you are using to create the disk. Symbios SDMS 4.0 PCI UnixWare Building the SCO UnixWare C8XX BTLD Diskette To create a C8XX BTLD disk to use with UnixWare 2.1.X and UnixWare 7, you must copy the raw dd image file onto a 1.44 MB floppy. The process for doing this will depend on what operating system you are using to create the disk. For UNIX System Users Follow these steps to create the BTLD diskette: 1. Insert a 3.5" diskette into the floppy drive. At the UNIX prompt type: dd if=/<path>/<image_file> of=/dev/rfd0 The <path> is where the dd image is located. 1a. For UnixWare 2.1.X, the dd image file is located here: {UNIX CD-ROM path}/DRIVERS/UNIXES/SCOUWARE/UW2x and the <image_file> is called something similar to UWX0X00.DD, for example: UW40800.DD 1b. For UnixWare 7, the dd image file is located here: {UNIX CD-ROM path}/DRIVERS/UNIXES/SCOUWARE/UW7 and the <image_file> is called something similar to UWX0X00.DD, for example: UW42100.DD This command will dd the image to the floppy to create a BTLD diskette. For DOS System Users 1. Use a utility that will copy the raw .DD image onto a 1.44 MB floppy. "Rawrite", which is a public domain utility, is available. Instructions for using this utility are included in its accompanying "RAWRITE.HTM" file. See below for further details. 1a. For UnixWare 2.x.x, this .DD image is located at: {DOS CD-ROM path}:\DRIVERS\UNIXES\SCOUWARE\UW2x and the .DD image is called something similar to UWX0X00.DD, for example: UW40800.DD 1b. For UnixWare 7, this .DD image is located at: {DOS CD-ROM path}:\DRIVERS\UNIXES\SCOUWARE\UW7 and the .DD image is called something similar to UWX0X00.DD. 1c. Rawrite is included on this CD-ROM at this location: {DOS CD-ROM path}:\SDMS45\HTML\RAWRITE.HTM After the image has been copied to a 3.5" diskette, use this BTLD diskette for SCO OpenServer installations as instructed. -OR- The other DOS alternative is to use the self-extracting image file, which will be called something similar to UWXX.EXE and located under: {DOS CD-ROM path}:\DISKIMAG\UW2X.EXE -OR- {DOS CD-ROM path}:\DISKIMAG\UW7.EXE.Download Driver Pack
