RAYON PCIPort Adapter DOCUMENTATION FOR WIN2000/XP
               -----------------------------------------------------

   DRIVER INSTALLATION

If you currently have an driver installed, please remove it .After
removing the driver, reboot your system. This is necessary because
P&P will not allow a new driver to be installed until the driver
      is unloaded from memory.

Once Windows has started, the PLUG & PLAY function of 2000/XP system
will find the new PCIPORT card. If this is the first time to install
PCIPORT card in your 2000 system. You will be informed to install the
driver. Just put our PCIPORT driver diskette to driver. Please follow
the instruction to specify the correct path (ex. a:\win2000) for our
      driver in diskette.
******NOTE: don't select the wrong path as a:\win95**********************

Because the resource will be assigned by PCI BIOS. It is not easy
to check the first card or sencond card by resource. So we have one
jumper to set this card to be first one or second one. Then we can
fix the COM port number for each card. (Traditionly, user can not
confirm the COM port number for each card. Because it will depend
the card numbers in one system, card slot number and the installation
sequence. So you may have wrong COM port number for different
      condition and time point.)

After you had installed PCIPORT driver in one 2000 system. You will
be informed to have new hardware found. But 2000 system will install
      the COM port automatically.

Note for multi-P588/P584 card installation.

 1. We can install upto two PCIPORT cards in one 2000/XP system.

 2. When we need to install two PCIPORT cards in one 2000 system, we must
let one card to have jumper ON and the other card to have jumper OFF.

 3. The card with jumper ON is the first card. The card with
jumper OFF is the second card. We can specify the start COM port number
for first card and second card seperately.(***In P&P procedure 2000/XP
system will assign the available COM port***)

 4. If user install P588 and P584 card in one 2000/XP system simultaneously,
please confirm that the COM port number do not overlap. Or you may have
only one COM port to be actived. Of course this condition must be
confirmed with other COM port card in the same 2000/XP system.

 5. P584/P588 card can be used in interrupt shared mode. PCI BIOS will
assign the interrupt for each P588/P584 card. For multi-P584/P588 card
we can have same IRQ. But user must confirm that one system have
one IRQ or more to be assigned in P588/P584 card. If there are no IRQ
left to be assigned for P588/P584 card, we may have wrong process in
    P588/P584 function.

 6. If user had two P588 and P584 card in one 2000/XP system simultaneously,
please insert one card firstly. Then you can insert the other card in
next boot procedure. Or you may have some error message in driver
    installation procedure.
