Release notes ---------------- This is release for the Gemplus GemPC410 Serial Smart Card Reader The driver support Plug and Play Reader Pnp Serenum\GEM0410 And compatible GemCore PC-link Reader. 2. GemPC410 Driver Installation ----------------------------- If you install your device as legacy (Not PnP): - Open your control panel and choose Add New Hardware - Click on the Next button, then on Next again. - Do not let Windows search for new hardware - In the list box, select Other Devices and click on Next button - Choose Have Disk button - Locate the installation file (GemnP9x.inf) - Choose from dialog box proper comport to install device - Finish installation If you install your device as PnP: - Insert the GCR410P connector into a serial socket. - In Control Panel, double-click on System Icon and choose the Device Manager tab. - Click on the Refresh button - The system launch an installation wizard. - At the prompt, insert this disk in a floppy drive an click "Next". - The system locate the installation component on the floppy drive. - Click "Finish" to launch the installation. - The system copy the necesary files on your computer and configure your machine for the use of the device. - to work with resource manager you need to restart system 3. Disk Content --------------- The following components are included in this Disk - Readme GrSer9x.txt This Readme file - GRSerial.VxD GRSerial PC/SC driver installation components - gemsr9x.inf (for other vendors see specific .inf files) - gemnP9x.inf - grSerial.cat Signature File 4 - Notes for users ------------------- - Because of problem with busy comm port at PnP initialization, configuration manager can not display real information about device state(if device is functioning properly). The problem related to Windows system; - At some PC PNP sequences to get reader information does not correspond to standards. This could create problem with getting PnP reader information(reader can't be detected by system). If this happened, driver can solve the problem if reader will be installed as legacy device through Add New Hardware wizard. - The mouse movement can be blocked during reader transactions. To uninstall the device: - In device manager, remove the reader. To clean up the system: - In the registry, remove the following entries: \HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\class\SmartCardReader - remove the following files from the Windows\System directory grserial.vxd Please, report problems by filling the Bug Report and send it to your Gemplus representative.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
