Readme.txt Installation on Windows 95, 98, Me, 2000, XP and NT: ---------------------------------------------------- Installation Sequence: 1) Turn off the computer and disconnect its power cord. 2) Insert the Signametrics hardware into a vacant PCI/PXI slot. If more than one type of hwarware items are installed, plug in only one unit at a time and run this 8 step process for each unit. 3) Secure the Signametrics hardware with the bracket screw to the chassis. 4) Power up the computer. ; a "Found New Hardware" Wizard dialog box should appear. 6) Insert installation CD provided into the CD drive, and guide windows to read the driver from this drive. It is looking for a .INF file, located in the root directory of the CD. 7) The Signametrics product Install dialog box should show up. To install the software for a specific model, select it. If the Install dialog box does not show up, it could be due to the auto run being off on your computer. In this case, double click the "autorun.exe" file on the CD, and proceed with the installation. Also extracting and re-inserting the CD will invoke "autorun.exe". 8) A Signametrics product selection dialogue box will appear - click the product to be installed Uninstalling the Hardware: -------------------------- The uninstallation process for the products is very specific, and will remove all components copied to your hard driver, including calibration files. If you intend to use the DMM in the future, or in another machine, make sure you have a saved copy of the Calibration file (ie . SM60CAL.DAT). This file contains essential and specific calibration information for your DMM. This file may contain multiple calibration records. In addition to files, the uninstall removes entries from the registry. To uninstall the SM206X do the following: 1) Open the 'Control Panel' from 'My Computer' group. 2) Open the 'Add/Remove Programs' object. 3) Select the 'Install/Uninstall' tab of the 'Add/Remove Programs'. 4) Select the Signametrics hwadware item, and press the Add/Remove button.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
