            VIA VT6105 Rhine III Fast Ethernet Adapter Installation
                                for Windows XP

  This document shows you how to setup the driver in Windows XP.

  Before starting with the installation process, make sure that the
  adapter is properly installed and configured.

  1.  After starting Windows XP, the windows will automatically detect
      new hardware, then the 'Found New Hardware Wizard' window appears.

  2.  Insert the driver diskette into drive A.

  3.  Select "Install from a list specific location(Advanced)", then click
      the "Next" button.

  4.  Select "Search for the best driver in these locations:" and only check
      the "Include this location in the search:".

  5.  Type A:\ into the box, then click the "Next" button.

  6.  The Windows XP will find the driver for this network adapter and start
      to copy the drivers to the user's hard disk.

  7.  When windows has finished installing the driver for this device.
      Click the "Finish" button.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
