  DataCard SmartDriver API Software Developer's Kit Visual Basic Sample Code

The following sample code was tested with Visual Basic 6.0 with Visual Studio 
Service Pack 4.

File List:

ICE_API.BAS
    This file contains declarations for accessing the SmartDriver SDK functions
    from Visual Basic.  This is similar to the ICE_API.H file for Visual C++.

EXAMPLES.BAS
    This file contains sample routines for using the SmartDriver API from
    Visual Basic.  The sample routines are similar to the examples in the
    manual and EXAMPLES.C.

WIN32PRINT.BAS
    This file contains declarations of Win32 functions that are useful when printing.

SMARTDRIVERTESTFORM.FRM
    This file contains a simple form that calls functions in EXAMPLES.BAS.

SMARTDRIVERTEST.VBP
    The Visual Basic project file for this program.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
