This document contains installation notes, which is not included in the
DFE-670TXD Fast Ethernet PC Card USER'S GUIDE or on screen instructions,
for Windows XP users regarding DFE-670TXD Fast Ethernet PC Card
installation.

Follow these steps to install the DFE-670TXD Fast Ethernet PC Card's driver:

    1. Start your PC, then insert the DFE-670TXD Fast Ethernet PC Card
       into an available PC Card slot in your PC .

    2. After starting Windows XP, the DFE-670TXD Fast Ethernet PC Card will
       be detected automatically, then the "Found New Hardware Wizard"
       window appears.

    3. Insert the DFE-670TXD Fast Ethernet PC Card Installation diskette
       into CDROM drive.

    4. Select the "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)",
       then click the "Next" button in the "Found New Hardware Wizard" window.

    5. Check the "Include this location in the search:" box and enter
       "D:\WINXP", then click the "Next" button in the "Found New Hardware
       Wizard" window.

    6. When "Hardware Installation" window appear, click the "Continue Anyway"
       button to continue the installation.

    7. Windows XP will start copying the necessary driver into your hard disk.
       Click "Yes" button to overwrite the newer file.

    8. Click the "Finish" button to finish the installation.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
