This Castelle LANpress Setup utilities diskette contains the following files: SETUP.EXE SETUP.LGO SETUP.INS SETUP.PKG MPADMIN.Z README.TXT In the DOS directory MPCONFIG.EXE README_D.TXT QUICKSET.EXE SETUP.EXE - This is the setup program for the Castelle LANpress's Windows based configuration utility - MPADMIN. MPCONFIG.EXE - This is the setup program for the Castelle LANpress's DOS based configuration utility - MPCONFIG. MPCONFIG is a menu-driven utility that provides equivalent functions as those found in MPADMIN. To use this program, simply copy it from the diskette to any hard drive and run it under the DOS prompt. README.TXT - This is the file you are currently reading. ============================================================================ WHAT IS MPADMIN? --------------- MPADMIN is a Windows based utility program designed for the network administrator to remotely configure and manage the Castelle LANpress print server products. MPADMIN can be used on Microsoft's Windows 3.1, Windows for Workgroups, Windows 95, and Windows NT platforms. MPADMIN uses IPX/SPX protocol to communicate with the active Castelle LANpress devices. BEFORE INSTALLING MPADMIN ------------------------ Before you install MPADMIN program on your workstation, you must make sure that the following software has been loaded: ON WINDOWS NT WORKSTATIONS -- Click on control panel and then click on network icon to bring up your network setup menu. Check to see if the following software has been installed on your workstation: 1) NetWare Gateway Service (for NT version 3.5.1) Client Service for NetWare (for NT version 3.5) 2) NWLINK IPX/SPX Compatible Transport If not, then you need to select "Add software" function to install these two software. After you install the software, you need to restart the workstation. If you are prompted with "Select Preferred server for NetWare" message, simply click "Cancel" if you do not have a Novell server on your network. You do not need to log in to a Novell file server to use the MPADMIN program. ON WINDOWS 95 WORKSTATIONS -- Click on control panel and then click on network icon to bring up your network setup menu. Make sure that the "Client for NetWare Network" & "IPX/SPX Compatible Transport" are both installed. If not, then you need to click on Add button to install these software. You do not need to setup a Novell's preferred server or log in to an existing Novell file server to use the MPADMIN program. ON WINDOWS 3.1 OR WINDOWS FOR WORKGROUPS 3.11 WORKSTATIONS -- Make sure that the Novell workstation drivers are properly loaded on your workstation. You do not have to log in to a Novell file server to use MPADMIN program. INSTALLING MPADMIN ----------------- To install MPADMIN on your Windows 3.1, Windows for Workgroups, or Windows NT workstation: 1. Insert Castelle LANpress Configuration utilities diskette into the drive. 2. Make sure Windows is already running. If not, type WIN at the DOS prompt. 3. Choose Run from the File menu in the Program Manager. The Run dialog box appears. 4. Type a:\setup or b:\setup depending on which floppy drive you used. Click OK to start the setup. 5. Follow the instructions on your screen. To install MPADMIN on your Windows 95 workstation: 1. Insert Castelle LANpress Configuration diskette into the drive. 2. Click Start, point to Run, then click. 3. Type the drive letter containing the diskette, followed by :\setup. For example A:\setup. Click OK to start the installation. 4. Follow the instructions on your screen.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
