  The Windows 2000\XP\Server 2003 Multi-port Serial SPEED Driver supports Speed4, 
  Speed4+, PCI-Fast4/8/16/16FMC, AT-Fast4/8/16, UltraPort1/2/4/8/8i/16 and
  UltraPort1/2/4/8/16 SI multi-port serial adapters.  It also supports PCI-RAS4, 
  PCI-RAS8, PCI-RAS4 V.92 and PCI-RAS8 V.92 multi-modem adapters.

Driver Upgrade/Installation Procedure
--------------------------------------
To upgrade drivers for installed devices, run UPDATE.EXE from the same directory as your 
driver package. UPDATE.EXE will update all installed SPEED type devices with the drivers 
found in this package. 

Note: When new hardware is added Windows will try to find a driver for it.  If a driver 
is not found for the new device, you are able to give the location of the driver you wish 
to use to the Found New Hardware Wizard.  However if Windows does find a driver for the 
device already on the system, Windows will automatically install the most recent digitally 
signed driver it can find for your new hardware.  If you wish to install a different driver 
(i.e. a more recent but unsigned driver) from the one installed for your device you will 
need to use UPDATE.EXE to update the devices.

             the VENDOR ID. The UltraPort16 SI is not affected by this change.
             The serial number of the UltraPort SI cards has the following form:
                57-xxWWYYxnnnn 
              where WW is the week of production and,
                    YY is the year of production.
             If the serial number on an Ultraport SI card shows that it has been 
             produced on or after the first week of Sept (WW=36) of the year 
             2006 (YY=06), then a driver of version 2.2.0 or later is required 
             to recognize the card.

           *  Driver allows port to be removed from device manager whilst port is open.
           *  If card is uninstalled from device manager without uninstalling the ports first the COM# names are not used again if the card is reinstalled.
