If you have Adobe printer software on the windows 95 hard drive please delete it along with the printers contained in the "Printers" dialog box. You will need the Windows 95 distribution disk(s) and will also need to pkunzip the win95ppd.zip onto a floppy to proceed with the installation. To install a post script printer for use on Windows 95 Colorflare print servers Insert the following line into the win.ini file in the [ports] section: c:\spool\ufo.ps= On the Windows 95 Colorflare Print Server: 1. Click on Start 2. Click on Settings 3. Click on the Printers Icon. 4. Click on the Add Printer Icon. 5. Click on "Next". 6. Click on "Local Printer". 7. Click on "Next". 14. Insert the "Windows 95 Colorflare PPD Installation Disk" into A: 15. Click on Have Disk 16. When the "Install from Disk" appears click on "OK". 17. Select the printer model and click on "Next". 18. In the "Available ports" listbox select "c:\spool\ufo.ps" 19. Click on "Next". 20. Insert the 95 CD, when additional files are requested from the Windows 95 distribution point the source path to [CD Logical Drive Spec]:\Win95 then click on "OK". 21. Verify that the printer appears in the "Printers" window. Now that you have a local printer installed the following steps should be taken to share the printer over the network: 1. Click on "Start". 2. Select "Settings & Control Panel". 3. Click on the "Network" Icon. 4. Verify that the "File and Printer sharing for Microsoft Networks" service is installed. If it is go to step 10. 5. To install the sharing service click on "Add". 6. Select "Service" then click on "Add". 7. Select "Microsoft" choose the "File and Printer sharing for Microsoft Networks". 8. Click on "Add". 9. Reboot your system. 10. Enter into the "Printers" dialog box off of "Control Panel". 11. Select the printer you want to share. 12. Click on "File" select the "Sharing" option. 13. Click on "Share As". 14. Fill in printer name. password and configure the separator sheet. 15. Click on "OK". 16. You should see the printer Icon change to indicate that it is now shared. On the Windows 95 workstation attempting to print to a Colorflare Print Server: 1. Click on Start 2. Click on Settings 3. Click on the Printers Icon. 4. Click on the Add Printer Icon. 5. Click on "Next". 6. Click on "Network Printer". 7. Click on "Next". 8. Click on "Browse". 9. Double Click on the appropriate workgroup. 10. Double Click on the Colorflare Server Box. 11. Click on the Colorflare Printer Icon. 12. Click on "OK". 13. Click on "Next". 14. Insert the "Windows 95 Colorflare PPD Installation Disk" into A: 15. Click on Have Disk 16. When the "Install from Disk" appears click on "OK". 17. Select the printer model and click on "Next". 18. In the "Available ports" listbox select "c:\spool\ufo.ps" 19. Click on "Next". 19. Insert the 95 CD, when additional files are requested from the Windows 95 distribution point the source path to [CD Logical Drive Spec]:\Win95 then click on "OK". 20. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
