UFO PPD installation disk for Windows NT 4.0

To install the UFO PPDs you will need the UFO supplied "Printer Driver for
Windows NT 4.0" disk and the Windows NT Server CD-ROM.

Use the following instructions:

    - Insert the Printer Driver for Windows NT 4.0 disk into A:.
    - Insert the Windows NT Server disk into the CD-ROM. This is usually the
      D: drive and will be referenced as such. Windows NT may detect the
      CD-ROM and automatically start it. Ignore this screen or close it.

Repeat these instructions for every printer that is to be installed.

    - Select Start/Settings/Printers from the NT 4.0 task bar.
    - Double Click the Add Printer icon.
    - The Add Printer Wizard will appear.
    - Choose either a Network or Local printer to install.
    - Click Next when finished.
    - Select a Port to connect the printer to.
    - Click Next when finished.
    - The next screen will have all the default printers that NT 4.0 knows
      about.
    - Click on the Have Disk... button.
    - Click OK to browse the A: drive.
    - You should now see the UFO printer choices.
    - Select which printer you want to install.
    - Select Next.
    - The next screen will let you rename the printer and allow you to make 
      this printer the default printer.
    - Click Next.
    - The next screen allows you to share the printer. If you want to share the
      printer on the network you must give it a name.
    - Click Next.
    - The next screen prompts to print a test page.
    - Click Finish.
    - Windows NT will prompt the user for the Windows NT Server CD-ROM. Click
      OK.
    - You are now in the Files Needed dialog box.
    - Type D:\i386 in the edit box. (Or whatever your CD-ROM's drive letter is)
    - Click OK.
    - The Add printer dialog box should disappear.
    - If you selected to print a test page you will be prompted by NT to tell
      whether the page printed properly.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
