Install/Uninstall Manual ===================================== 1.1 Install touchscreen software ==================================================================================== NOTES: you must have administrator access rights on your Windows 2000 system to install our touchscreen software package for Windows 2000. You must also have administrator access rights to run the touchscreen control panel and touchscreen calibration applications. 1. Shutdown Windows and turn off your computer. 2. Install your touchscreen hardware. 3. Start your computer. 4. Windows STARTS the New Hardware Wizard, Choose "Next". Select "Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended)" and Choose "Next". 5. When a list of search locations is displayed, place a checkmark on the floppy drive containing this driver for Windows disk. Insert the disk into your floppy drive. (If the driver files have been copied to your hard drive or have been distributed on CD, place a checkmark on "Specify a location" and use Browse to select the directory containing the driver files.) 6. Choose "Next". Once the GeneralTouch Touchscreen serial interface driver has been detected choose "Next" again. 7. Wait while driver files are copied to your computer. Insert your Windows CD if prompted. 8. Choose "Finish", restart your Windows system when prompted. The touchscreen calibration program will automatically run. Touch the three targets as they appear on the screen. Click "Yes" when the cursor lines up correctly with your finger. ====================================================== 1.2 Change Touchscreen settings ====================================================== 1. Click the "Start" button, point to "Settings", and then "control panel". 2. Double-click the "GeneralTouch Touchscreen" icon, now you can change touchscreen settings. for more information about using touchscreen,see context_sensitive help. ====================================================== 1.3 Uninstall Touchscreen software ====================================================== 1. Click the "Start" button, point to "Settings", and then "Control Panel". 2. Double-click the "System" Programs icon. 3. Open device manager, get the "GeneralTouch Touchscreen serial interface" device from the list of all devices in the system. 4. Click the "Remove" button then follow the directions on your screen. 5. Restart Windows to complete the uninstall process. ======================================================= 1.4 Release Notes ======================================================= 1. Problem solution ==================================== - The system mouse class driver MOUCLASS.SYS is required by the driver. most times, it is installed during Windows installation process. if not,our device driver will not work. - Our device driver depends on the Windows beep service (BEEP.SYS) to make audible feedback,so if beep service (BEEP.SYS) does not work,there will be no beep here. ==================================== 4. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
