;
; Based on SMCIRDA.INF.
;
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
; "SMC IrCC (Infrared Communications Controller), SP1" (Special version 1)
;
; This INF is identical as SMCIRDA.INF except that this will install
; "RxForceDrq" string value to the registry
; that is required for SiS and VIA chipsets.
; The device description name in the device manager has "SP1" in it.
;
; "RxForceDrq" is implemented in v.5.1.3600.2 or later, but not in
; v.5.2.3630.0.
;
; In the future, IrCC bundled with SiS and VIA chipsets should have
; SMCF020 PnP ID in BIOS rather than SMCF010 so that INF can figure
; out what to install. For now, this special version of INF
; file treats both SMCF010 and SMCF020 as the same device that
; is bundled with SiS or VIA chipsets.

;
; The first IOConfig is for the SIR/UART portion of the IrCC.
; The second IOConfig is for the FIR/SCE portion of the IrCC.
;  This order is required!
;
; For the Lc.NoDma case, the speed will be limited to 115.2 Kbps
; (i.e., SIR-only) even if higher speeds are enabled in the
;  SpeedEnable key (below).
;
; These LC's are ignored if a PnP BIOS is enumerating the IrCC.
; These LC's are for ISA Evaluation Boards which have no PnP BIOS.
;
; The first time a Resource property sheet is opened after installation,
; The values from the Lc.Default section (i.e., Configuration 0) will
; be displayed. Some mouse clicks can be saved by setting these values
; to match the actual hardware values. The values here correspond to
;  the default settings of SMC's FirSetup.Exe.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.

For more help, visit our Driver Support section for step-by-step videos on how to install drivers for every file type.
