Driver Installation notes for Broadcom HT1000/BCM5785 Linux Driver Licensed under the GPL 1. Under linux use the following command to make a driver disk dd if=<image_name> of=/dev/fd0 bs=1440k 2. System can be installed to SATA disks by using this driver disk. After the first reboot, please run the install.sh script to setup the system to update the driver if the kernel is updated. 3. On systems which use IDE Boot Disks, SATA support can be added, by mounting the driver disk and running the install.sh script. 4. This driver is built and maintained under the DKMS infrastructure. In order to update the sata driver when a new kernel or a custom kernel is installed, run the following commands - a. /usr/sbin/dkms build -m sata_svw -v 1.05.1 -k <new kernel version> b. /usr/sbin/dkms install -m sata_svw -v 1.05.1 -k <new kernel version> If both uni and multi-processor kernels are installed, the above two commands need to be used for each of them. If SATA is not the boot disk, the DKMS auto_installer will take care of the driver update on the next reboot. So there is no need to run these commands. 5. Driver source code is provided as part of the rpm install. 6. In order to uninstall the driver run the remove.sh scriptDownload Driver Pack
