This zip file contains the following files
F1198l.exe program to read and write firmware
f50.HEX firmware version F50 (Just incase)
f52_2525.hex firmware version F52
update instructions.txt
1. Reboot the PC in DOS Mode
2. Remove all other devices from IDE chain and note the 952e drive setting (master/slave primary/secondary). Remove any media from inside the drive.
3. Run `F1198L` This will give you the options for the command
IDE port 1: Primary/Master
2: Primary/Slave
3: Secondary/Master
4: Secondary/Slave
r: read flash
w: write flash
/P: page mode, maybe faster
/B: BIN file (default HEX)
usage: f1198l <IDE port> <R|W> [/P,/B] {file name}
example of command
To make a copy of the firmware with device setting master/secondary to file name backup.hex
f1198l 3 r backup.hex
To download firmware file named f52_2525.hex with device setting slave/primary
f1198l 2 w f52_2525.hex
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
