Printer Driver for Microsoft Windows 2000


Note : This is the driver for the English language version of Windows 2000.
       Do not install this driver on a version of Windows 2000 other than the
       English language version as this will cause printer dialog boxes to
       display in English rather than the language of the installed Windows 2000
       version.

<Introduction>
     The Fujitsu PrintPartner 10V/14V/14AV/ADV printer driver has drivers for 
     the following models.

       Fujitsu PrintPartner 10V        : Standard driver for 10V
       Fujitsu PrintPartner 14V/AV     : Standard driver for 14V/14AV
       Fujitsu PrintPartner 14ADV      : Standard driver for 14ADV

<File composition>
     The following files are necessary for the standard driver.
      FJ10142K.INF  Information file used for installing the printer driver.
      FJ10142K.DLL  Fujitsu PrintPartner 10V/14V/14AV/14ADV printer driver
                    module.
      README.TXT    Contains explanation and points to note for the printer
                    driver.


<Installation Guide>
     The standard printer driver can be installed by the method described below.

     Set-up from Printers folder.

       (a)Click the Start button, point to Settings, and then click Printers.

       (b)Double-click Add Printer.

       (c)The Add Printer Wizard appears, then choose the location. Click "Next>".

       (d)Select the printer port. Click "Next>".

       (e)Click "Have Disk" from the next dialog and the "Install from disk"
          dialog box is displayed prompting the user to select the drive and
          directory containing the installation disk.

       (f)Insert the printer driver installation disk into the A: drive,
          type "A:\" and click "OK".

       (g)A dialog box appears displaying the model names.
          Select the model name which you will use,
          and click "Next>" to continue.

       (h)A dialog appears prompting the user to type the printer name. Type
          an appropriate name or use the one supplied and click "Next>".

       (i)The next dialog prompts the user to print a test page. Select "Yes"
          or "No" and click "Finish".

       (j)Driver files are copied from the installation disk.

       (k)When all files have been copied and the driver is installed a dialog
          appears querying the result of test page printout. Depending on
          whether the test page was printed correctly or not click "Yes" or
          "No".

      The Fujitsu PrintPartner 10V, PrintPartner 14V/AV or PrintPartner 14ADV
      Windows 2000 printer driver is now installed.


<Points to Note>
       (1)110,921600 Baud rates are not supported by Fujitsu PrintPartner
          Series and should not be selected when using the serial port.

       (2)There is the item "Soft Fonts" in "Device Settings" setting from
          "Properties".
          Setting "Soft Fonts" is not guaranteed with this Printer Driver.

       (3)When using Duplex printing :  (PrintPartner 14ADV)
          When the front page and back page settings, such as paper source,
          paper size or print direction, are the same, the printer will print
          according to example #1.
          When any of these settings are different the printer will print
          according to example #2.

       (4)[Media] allows you to make detail settings about Paper Source.
             1) Auto (All Select)    : All paper sources are selected.
             2) Auto (Tray1 not used): All but tray 1 are selected.
             3) Auto (Tray2 not used): All but tray 2 are selected.
             4) Auto (MFF not used)  : All but MFF are selected.
             5) No Auto Feed         : When "Auto" is not selected in the
                                       [Paper Source],"No Auto Feed" should
                                       be selected for [Media].
                                       The only paper souce which is selected
                                       in the [Paper Source] is available.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
