1. General troubleshooting solutions

1-1. If a Windows shared printer cannot be monitored, check the following:

*Make sure that the printer driver is installed on the computer
that is hosting the Windows shared printer and that, in the printer
driver, the printer is set to be shared. Also make sure that "Allow
monitoring of shared printers" is selected in the Monitoring
	Preferences dialog box.

*(Windows Me/98) On the server, double-click the Network icon in
Control Panel and make sure that the "File and printer sharing for
Microsoft Networks" component is installed. Then, on the server AND
clients, make sure that the "IPX/SPX-compatible Protocol" or the
	 "TCP/IP Protocol" is installed.

2. Solutions for Windows XP/2000/Server 2003 environment

2-1. When uninstalling EPSON Status Monitor 3 from a multi-user Windows
XP/2000/Server 2003 environment, remove the shortcut icon from all clients before
uninstalling. You can remove the icon by clearing the Shortcut Icon check
box in the Monitoring Preferences dialog box.

3. Job Management Function

3-1. Connections that support the Job Management function

*EpsonNet Direct Print TCP/IP connections in Windows XP/Me/98/
	 2000/Sever 2003.
*EpsonNet Print TCP/IP connections in Windows XP/Me/98/2000/Server 2003
*LPR connections in Windows XP/2000/Server 2003.
	*Standard TCP/IP connections in Windows XP/2000/Server 2003.
*Shared Windows 2000/Server 2003 LPR connections, shared Windows
	 2000/Server 2003 EpsonNet Print and shared Windows 2000/Server 2003
Standard TCP/IP connections with Windows XP/Me/98/2000
	 clients.
Note that if the user account used to log on to a client is
different from the user account used to connect to the server,
the Job Management function is not available.

Shared Windows XP LPR connections and shared Windows XP Standard
TCP/IP connections with Windows clients do not support the Job
	Management function.

3-2. When using shared Windows 2000/Server 2003 LPR connections or shared Windows 2000/Server 2003 Standard TCP/IP connections with Windows Me/98 clients, spooled print jobs from the Windows Me/98 clients cannot be deleted.

3-3. "Monitor the printing status" must be selected on the printer driver's
Utility tab in order to use the "Notify when printing completed" function.

3-4. On condition that the client logon user is different from the connecting
user for the server, the Job Management function is not available.
