  --------------------------------------------------------------------------
  BEFORE YOU BEGIN
  --------------------------------------------------------------------------
  If your computer does NOT have a plug-and-play motherboard,
  the following notes apply to you:

  1. Before attempting to install the Ether16 LAN Card's network
      software drivers, you MUST configure the card's internal
      settings with the SETUP program included on Ether16 disk 1
      under the UTILITY directory. Use the program to set the
      card's interrupt (IRQ) and I/O settings. For directions
      on using SETUP, see your Ether16 user guide.

  2. Most network software packages like Windows 95, Windows NT,
      Novell NetWare, etc., include a "generic" network driver
      that will work with a wide range of network cards. This
      generic driver is called a "Novell NE2000" compatible driver,
      and it is fully supported by the Ether16 card. If your
      network software package asks you to choose the name of
      the network card you're installing from a list of available
      adapters, and you find "NE2000" or "Novell NE2000" listed,
      you don't need to follow the directions below---simply choose
      to install the NE2000 driver and the Ether16 Card will be
      ready for use. THE ETHER16 IS ONLY NE2000 COMPATIBLE
      WHEN THE CARD'S PLUG-AND-PLAY MODE IS TURNED OFF. If
      your PC has a plug-and-play motherboard, and you wish to
      use the generic NE2000 driver, you must run the Ether16
      SETUP program and turn the card's plug-and-play mode off.

  Setup
  --------------------------------------------------------------------
  Follow these steps to install the driver for Solaris:

1. Copy all of the files from the SOLARIS directory on disk 2
   to your computer's Solaris directory.

2. Execute chmod +x setupisa.

3. Execute ./setupisa.

   The program displays the following message:

       Do you wish to add or delete the network board ? (a/d/q) [q]

   The following describes each option for the above prompt:

   (1) a or A - add network board

   When you select this option, setupisa checks the number of boards already
   installed in the system. If there are already four boards, the program
   displays:

               The system can only support four boards !

   If not, the following message appears:

               Do you wish to add Board 0 ? (y/n) [y] or 'q' to quit:

   Type "y" to start the driver addition process. To quit or stop the
   process, type "n" or "q". If you type "y", the following message
   appears:

               Does your machine support the PnP BIOS ? (y/n) [n]

   Type "y" if your system implements the PnP BIOS. If not, type "n".

      NOTE:
           If the board of ISA Family is a non-plug and play card, please use
           setup program in DOS to change IO base address and IRQ number if
           conflict.

   The following messages appear:

               Please choose the media mode that you want.....................

                0. Twisted pair connection.
                1. BNC connection.
                2. AUI connection.
                3. Automatic detection between TP BNC and AUI.
                4. Use EEPROM setting.

   Enter number of media mode selection (0 1 2 3 4) [3] or 'q' to quit:

   Answer this prompt accordingly. If you type "0", this message appears:

                Media mode : Twisted pair.

                Hostname of Board 0: aaron

   If etc/hosts does not include loghost, the following appears:

                Input IP Address of Log Host: 192.9.200.66

   If etc/hosts does not specify the defaultGateway, this appears:

                Input IP Address of Default Gateway: 192.9.200.254

   After which, this message appears:

                Do you want to change the above setting ? (y/n) [n] :

   Type "n" to use the specified settings. Otherwise, type "y".
   If you answer "n", the program copies d22e into the /kernel/drv
   directory, and creates d22e.conf with the following contents:

           name="d22e" class="sysbus" PnP=1 media="UTP"
           intr=5,3,5,4,5,5,5,9,5,10,5,11,5,12,5,15 reg=0x0,0,0 multisize=20;

   The program then copies d22e.conf into the /kernel/drv directory.
   The program will also modify the hosts file as shown:

           ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
           127.0.0.1        localhost
           192.9.200.66     aaron loghost
           192.9.200.254    defaultGateway router
           ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

   The program also creates hostname.d22e0 with the following line:

                  aaron (just includes host name of machine)

   then copies it into the /etc directory.

   You can repeat the same procedure if you are adding another adapter.

   (2) d or D - delete network board

    When you select this option, setupisa checks the number of boards already
    installed in the system. If there are no boards installed, the program
    displays:

       There is no more Board can be deleted !

       Otherwise, the program displays:

            Do you wish to delete Board 0 ? (y/n) [n] or 'q' to quit:

            Type "y" to delete. Otherwise, type "n" or "q". Typing "y"
            displays the following messages:

            Hostname of Board 0: aaron

                [1] d22e.conf will be modified
                [2] hosts will be modified
                [3] hostname.d22e0 will be deleted

       For more information about the hosts and hostname.d22e0, please refer
       to Chapter 3 of the SunOS manual.

4. Add the drives into system. Type:

       add_drv -i <'identify string'> <module_name>

   Example :

       add_drv -i 'Linksys Ether16' d22e

5. Reboot your system to activate the driver.
