Installing D-Link DE-220 Family Ethernet Adapter

This document contains DE-220 Family Ethernet Adapter installation notes,
which is not included in the DE-220 Family Ethernet Adapter USER'S GUIDE
or onscreen instructions, for Netware DOS ODI driver users.

This document contains information on the following topics:

1. Assume you have installed D-Link's LANsmart system.

2. Copy DE22X.COM, LSL.COM, and IPXODI.COM files from released driver
   diskette into the LANsmart directory containing D-Link's LANsmart
   system and relation files.

   Example:
        C:\>copy a:\setup\de22x.com c:\lansmart
        C:\>copy a:\setup\lsl.com c:\lansmart
        C:\>copy a:\setup\ipxodi.com c:\lansmart

3. A typical IPX SHELL over ODI for DOS driver client startup
   batch file includes:

                     LSL
                     DE22X
                     IPXODI
                     LOGON xxxx        ; D-Link's LANsmart

                     Content of NET.CFG
                     ------------------
                     Link Driver DE22X
                          FRAME ETHERNET_802.3


                     Notes: Frame type must use Ethernet_802.3.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
