Driver Installation - Microsoft Windows 95 and Windows 98 Driver ================================================================ AsanteFAST 10/100 PCI Rev B Adapter Microsoft Windows 95 and Windows 98 NDIS v4.0 Driver INSTALLATION GUIDE Proceed as follows to install the driver into Windows 95 or Windows 98. 1. Start Windows 95 or Windows 98 with the AsanteFAST adapter installed. 2. Windows finds new hardware as PCI Ethernet Controller so click Next. 3. On the next window select "Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended)" and click Next. 4. Insert the AsanteFAST 10/100 PCI Rev B Adapter Driver CD-ROM and click Next. 5. On the next window select "CD-ROM drive" and type in the driver letter for your CD-ROM drive and click Next. 6. Windows found the following driver "AsanteFAST 10/100 PCI Rev B Adapter" click Next. 7.Click OK on the next window when Windows displayed "Please insert the disk labeled "AsanteFAST 10/100 PCI Rev B Adapter Driver CD-ROM. 8. When Windows displayed "The file "L100W95.INF" on AsanteFAST 10/100 PCI Rev B Adapter Driver CD-ROM cannot be found" specify the correct path to your CD-ROM drive and click OK. 9. Follow on-screen instructions to finish the installation and restart the computer when done. SETTING DRIVER PARAMETERS LIST ConnectionType: ConnctionType specified the oepration speed of the adapter. It is recommanded that user selects the AUTODETECT mode. In autodetect mode, the adapter detects the link partner's abilities and chooses the highest available speed automatically. Available options: * AUTODETECT In AUTODETECT mode the driver supports run-time auto swap function. You can auto swap during run time from one hub to another. * TP_10 10Base-T Half-Duplex mode * TP_10+Full_Duplex 10Base-T Full-Duplex mode * TP_100_X 100Base-Tx Half-Duplex mode * TP_100_X+Full_Duplex 100Base-Tx Full-Duplex mode TxThreshold: This parameter controls the bytes of data read from the host memory into adapter's transmit FIFO before the transmitting operation starting. The smaller the TxThreshold the better the transmitting performance is. But smaller TxThreshold also increases the possibility of transmit under flow. If transmit under flow does occur frequently, the driver will increase the TxThreshold automatically. It is recommanded that the user choose an appropricated TxThreshold value according to the PC's speed. Available values: * Store and Forward Disable the transmit threshold control. The adapter reads the whole frame from the host memory to transmit FIFO first, then starts to transmit. * 36 Bytes Enable the dynamic transmit threshold control and establish transmit threshold initial value to 36 bytes. When the transmit FIFO is underflow too many times, the value will be increased dynamically. * 72 Bytes Enable the dynamic transmit threshold control and establish transmit threshold initial value to 72 bytes. When the transmit FIFO is underflow too many times, the value will be increased dynamically. * 96 Bytes Enable the dynamic transmit threshold control and establish transmit threshold initial value to 96 bytes. When the transmit FIFO is underflow too many times, the value will be increased dynamically. * 128 Bytes Enable the dynamic transmit threshold control and establish transmit threshold initial value to 128 bytes. When the transmit FIFO is underflow too many times, the value will be increased dynamically. * 160 Bytes Enable the dynamic transmit threshold control and establish transmit threshold initial value to 160 bytes. When the transmit FIFO is underflow too many times, the value will be increased dynamically. * 256 Bytes Enable the dynamic transmit threshold control and establish transmit threshold initial value to 256 bytes. When the transmit FIFO is underflow too many times, the value will be increased dynamically.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
