    SiS IDE Driver Un-Installation For Windows NT 3.5x
    ==================================================
1.  From the Options menu in "Windows NT Setup", choose "^Add/Remove
    SCSI Adapters. 

2.  Select the "^SiS PCI MASTER IDE Miniport Driver" adapter.

3.  Select "^Remove"

4.  Setup will show a message box explaining how removing this driver
    may prevent Windows NT from starting correctly.  Select "^OK".

5.  Install the default ATAPI CD-ROM driver at this time by clicking
    the "^Add" button.
    
    The default driver may be listed in the "^Select SCSI Adapter
    Option" dialog box as 
    "^IDE CD-ROM (Atapi 1.2) / Dual-Channel PCI IDE". 

6.  In the "^Select SCSI Adapter Setup" dialog box, click on the
    "^Install" button in the dialog box.

7.  In the "^Windows NT Setup" dialog box, click on the "^New" button
    in the dialog box.

8.  Installation is successful if the "^SCSI Adapter Setup" dialog box
    reappear, and "^IDE CD-ROM {ATAPI 1.2}/ Dual-channel PCI IDE" will
    be listed as installed driver.
    
9.  Reboot the system in order for the changes to take effect.



    SiS IDE Driver Un-Installation For Windows NT 4.x
    =================================================
1.  Enter Windows NT 4.0 System.

2.  Double click the "My Computer" icon on the Desktop.

3.  Select "Control Panel" Folder.

4.  Double click the "SCSI Adapters" applet.

5.  Click on the folder tab labeled "Drivers".
    The currently installed SCSI adapter drivers will be listed in the
    Drivers menu.

    The display should list the SiS Master IDE driver,
    "SiS PCI MASTER IDE Miniport DRIVER"

6.  If the "SiS PCI MASTER IDE Miniport DRIVER" driver is listed,
    select it.  Then, select "Remove" to remove the driver.

7.  Select "Add..." to add a new driver.

8.  Select "Standard mass storage controllers" from "Install Driver".

9.  In the SCSI Adapter dialog, select the default ATAPI driver,
    "IDE CD-ROM (ATAPI 1.2)/Dual-channel PCI IDE Controller"
    and click "Ok" to install the driver.

10. Reboot the system in order for the changes to take effect.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
