Overview

This file contains the Creative Labs Audio PCI 64D and 128D Digital Sound Card (1373 chipset) and Audio PCI 64V (1371 chipset) 4-megabyte (MB) MIDI Wavetable set drivers.
 

Identification

1.  The computer must contain the following chipset: Creative Labs 1373 and 1371. 

If the sound drivers have been previously installed, the sound chipset can be identified in Device Manager under Sound, video and game controllers.

2.  This driver is supported in all Microsoft(r) Windows(r) operating systems.

 
Installation

Download the file to the desktop, and then follow these steps. 

Note:  The following instructions may vary, depending on the operating system installed on your computer.  

1.  On the screen, double-click the 4mbmidi.exe file.

2.  In the Win-Zip Self Extractor window, click Unzip to expand the files to the C:\Cabs\4mbmidi folder.

3.  Close all open programs.

4.  On the screen, double-click the My Computer icon.

5.  In the My Computer window, double-click the C: folder, double-click the Cabs folder, and then double-click the 4mbmidi folder.

6.  In the 4mbmidi window, click eapci4m.ecw, and then from the Edit menu, click Copy.

7.  Close the 4mbmidi and Cabs windows.

8.  In the C: folder, double-click the Windows folder, and then double-click the System folder.

9.  In the System window, from the Edit menu, click Paste.

10.  Close all open windows and programs.


Removal

The driver cannot be removed, as sound will not work properly without this file.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
