This floppy disk contains software for the PC Firebird 2 including:
        - Online Manual
        - FCC.EXE (Firebird Control Console - Keyboard Programming Utility)
	- FBD.EXE (Command-line utility for loading Firebird 2 sets)
	- KEYTEST.EXE (Utility to test the FireBirds' buttons)


Installation Tips
=================

The install program INSTALL.EXE is designed to run from both Windows
and DOS.  However, if you are running the install program from DOS,
please make sure that you have at least 560K of free conventional memory
or some options may not run properly.  If you need assistance freeing up
more memory, please consult your MS-DOS manuals.


More Installation Tips (for OS/2 users)
=======================================

To install the Firebird 2 OS/2 driver, add the following line to your
OS/2 CONFIG.SYS:
         
DEVICE=C:\GRAVIS\PCFB2\FIREBIRD.SYS
         
Of course, if the Firebird 2 software was installed to a directory other
than C:\GRAVIS\PCFB2, then the above line will have to be modified
accordingly.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
