INSTALLATION

Upgrading from a previous version 
======================================================================

Before removing the previous version, stop and close all applications 
that are using the MAYA1010.

A. Windows 2000/XP when the current driver is installed using auto 
   installation (Autoinst.exe; auto installation is not supported 
   under Windows 98SE/ME)

This installation process is based on the Windows XP system.
Installation on other systems is similar. However, if you experience
any difficulties please contact Audiotrak technical support.

   1. Click Start > Control Panel.
   2. In the Control Panel window, double-click Add or Remove
      Programs.
   3. Select Audiotrak MAYA1010 Audio Driver VX.XX and remove the
      driver.
   4. Run Autoinst.exe from this driver package and follow on-screen
      instructions. Please ignore any Found New Hardware Wizard
      windows which may appear.

note: if the previous driver was not installed using auto install, it
has to be removed using infclear.exe before running autoinst.exe

B. Windows 2000/XP when the current driver was not installed using
   auto installation

   1. Run INFCLEAR.EXE.  
   2. Click Remove Driver.
   3. Click OK.
   4. On the System Properties Window, click Hardware > Device Manager
      > Sound, video and game controllers. Then, check the Device
      Manager to ensure MAYA1010 drivers are removed.
   5. Click Restart and click OK to restart the computer.
   6. Ignore any Found New Hardware windows. Run autoinst.exe and 
      follow on-screen instructions.

C. Windows 98SE or Windows 2000/XP without auto installation
   1. Run INFCLEAR.EXE.  
   2. Click Remove Driver.
   3. Click OK.
   4. On the System Properties Window, click Hardware > Device Manager
      > Sound, video and game controllers. Then, check the Device
      Manager to ensure MAYA1010 drivers are removed.
   5. Click Restart and click OK to restart the computer.
   6. After system restart, the Found New Hardware Wizard window will
      show up. Follow the installation instruction in the manual as if
      you are installing a new device. 

note: "The search for the best driver in these location" step should 
      point to the downloaded installation file directory.

If you experience problems restarting Windows after installing new
update, try to change the PCI slot of the MAYA1010.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
