Overview

This is an Windows ME updated audio driver for integrated Audio for the Brookings motherboard.


Identification

1.  From the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

2.  In Control Panel, on the left-hand side, select View all Control Panel options.  If you do not have this option, it means that you can see all options already.

3.  In Control Panel, double-click the System icon.

4.  In System Properties dialog box, click the Device Manager tab.

5.  On the Device manager tab, double-click the Sound, video and game controllers category.  

6.  In the Properties dialog box, look in the list for AC-LINK 3D game audio.


Installation


Download the file to the desktop, and then follow these steps: 

1.  On your screen, locate and double-click the file 7509818.exe. 

2.  On the Win-Zip Self Extractor window, click on the Unzip button to expand the files to C:\Drivers\7509818.  Click OK for the 6  file(s) unzipped message. 

3.  Close all open programs.

4.  From the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

5.  In Control Panel, on the left-hand side, select View all Control Panel options.  If you do not have this option, it means that you can see all options already.

6.  In Control Panel, double-click the System icon.

7.  In System Properties, click the Device Manager tab.

8.  On the Device manager tab, double-click the Sound, video and game controllers category.  

9.  Locate and double-click the AC-LINK 3D game audio device.

10.  In the AC-LINK 3D game audio Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab.

11.  On the Driver tab, click Update Driver.

12.  In the Update Device Driver Wizard dialog box, select Specify the location of the driver.

13.  Select Display a list of the driver in a specific location so you can select the driver you want.  Click Next.

14.  In the Update Device Driver Wizard dialog box, click Have Disk.

15.  In the Install from Disk dialog box, type C:\Drivers\7509818.  Click OK.

16.  In the Update Device Driver Wizard dialog box, click Next.

17.  If it gives you an Update Driver Warning, click OK.

18.  In the next Update Device Driver Wizard dialog box, click Next.

19.  Files copy to the computer. When it is done, click Finish.

20.  Close all open dialog boxes.

21.  From the Start menu, click Shut Down.

22.  In the Shut Down Windows dialog box, select Restart, and then click OK.


Removal

1.  From the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. 

2.  In Control Panel, double click the Add/Remove Programs icon. 

3.  On the Install/Uninstall tab, locate and click AC-LINK 3D game audio (Uninstall) in the list of installed programs.  Click the Add/Remove button. 

4.  The removal performs without any other input and AC-LINK 3D game audio (Uninstall) is removed from the list, signifying that the removal has finished.  

5.  You may be prompted to restart.  If so, click Yes to restart.


Troubleshooting

If you have problems installing the new driver, try downloading it again and follow procedure above.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
