Microcom Corporation TrueType Font Converter for MS-DOS Revision 1.16 - April 27, 1998 Copyright 1998 Microcom Corporation The file TTF2MIC16.ZIP contains the files required to create Model 466 or Model 412 downloadable font files or resident font source files. Model 412 downloadable files may be either in ASCII format or compressed binary format. There is currently a limitation in the printer firmware that does not allow a font to use more than 64KB of printer memory. Please make sure that font converter program reports that each converted font will consume less than 64KB of printer memory. Microcom Corporation does not currently recommend the use of compressed binary fonts. Please use the ASCII conversion process at this time. The ZIP file contains the following files: TTF2MIC16.EXE - the executable program UTT.SS - the character symbol map data file TT_PLUG.TTF - the "plugin" file, for character glyphs that may not be in a given TrueType font file. To use the converter, unzip the ZIP file in a working directory. All files must be in the same directory. Run TTF2MIC16 and answer the prompts. (Running the program with a command line argument of 'D' enables a debug output, in which generated character bitmaps and metric data are dumped to the screen.) Every prompt has a default that may be selected by simply pressing 'Enter'. Note that the default character range (set of characters for which images are generated) is different for Model 466 versus Model 412 files. The default range for Model 466 is 10 Hex through FF Hex, which includes special characters to support the Polish language. The default character range for Model 412 is 20 Hex through FF Hex. In either case, a 'zero' symbol is placed at character location 9F Hex. This character must be hand-edited to add a slash if a slashed zero symbol is required. April 6, 1999Download Driver Pack
