M55Hi Plus Flash BIOS -04

There are two versions of the BIOS provided, one for motherboards with
the Vibra 16 sound chip built on, the other for boards without the
sound chip. Please make sure that you use the correct file.

M55-04S.ROM is for boards with sound built on
M55-04NS.ROM	is for boards without sound built on

This is a major BIOS upgrade, from the Phoenix 4.05 core to the
Phoenix 4.06 core. You *will not* be able to flash your BIOS back
to a previous version once you flash with this one.

Please note that this BIOS does not support the Cyrix processors.
Do not flash your M55Hi Plus with this BIOS release if you have a
Cyrix processor in your system.

FLASHING THE BIOS - WITH SOUND

1. Format a blank floppy disk with system files, so that it is
bootable. There should be no CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT
   files on the disk.

2. Copy the PHLASH.EXE, PLATFORM.BIN, and M55-04S.ROM files to
   the floppy disk.

3. Boot your system off the floppy disk.

4. At the prompt, type

		PHLASH /MODE=3 M55-04S.ROM

   then press the [ENTER] key.

   files on the disk.

   then press the [ENTER] key.

That's it. Also, it is normally a good idea to clear the CMOS
after flashing to be sure that any older settings are cleared
out. You can then setup the new BIOS as you would like to.
