Quick Installation for APACHE A56SP-HCF ======================================= Install the Driver for PCI Bus INTERNAL Modem with Windows NT4.0 ================================================================ 1. Please download the file called "HCF-NT4.EXE" from our web site at www.apache-micro.com (under tech support). To execute the file, double click on "HCF-NT4.EXE". The Pkzip will create a new directory called "C:\HCF-NT4" click "OK". 2. Install your Apache A56SP-HCF modem into your motherboard's PCI bus slot. Boot up to Windows NT4.0 and press "Ctrl+Alt+Del" at the same time to get into the Windows. Click on "Start" and click on "Run" then type "C:\HCF-NT4\SETUP.EXE" and click "OK". 3. The "Modem Board Installation Wizard" will pop up. Click "Next". 4. The wizard will install the modem driver shown "Apache HCF 56K Speakerphone PCI modem" click "Next". The installation is now completed click "Finish". Restart the Windows now. Troubleshooting: =============== Problem: The driver could not be install, click "Finish". Solution: Install the Apache A56SP-HCF into your motherboard's PCI bus slot. If the modem is already installed then install the NT Service Pack 3 and repeat step 2 above. Set up the Remote Access Service: ================================= 1. Go to Control Panel, double click on the "Network" icon. Click on "Services tab". Add RAS. Click "Add", select Remote Access Service and click "OK". RAS Device found "Com 3 - Apache HCF 56K Speaker phone PCI modem" click "OK". Insert your NT CD-ROM, close the Windows NT CD-ROM menu and click "Continue...". Add RAS Device screen will pop up. RAS Capable showed "Com 3 - Apache HCF 56K Speakerphone PCI modem" click "OK". 2. At the Remote Access setup, click "Configure..." then select your Port Usage and click "OK". 3. Click on "Network". Click "Continue...", "OK", "Close" and click on "Yes". Restart Windows now. Note: For Dial up Networking some ISP'S require you to load their script file for NT4.0. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
