      Microsoft Windows 95.

   2) If your system already contains COMBO-2000 and you want to re-install
new version, first uninstall Modio (See Uninstall Procedure), and only
then proceed to install new version.

To install COMBO-2000 for the first time:
-------------------------------------------
a) Turn your PC off.
b) Plug in the COMBO-2000 card into a free PCI slot.
c) Restart the system.
d) When the system detects the card and asks for disk, press "Browse"
and select the COMBO-2000 install diskette in the floppy drive or
   CD-ROM drive.
e) COMBO-2000 will be installed.

-----------------------------
2. How to verify installation
-----------------------------

To verify that COMBO-2000 is installed correctly, follow these steps:

 a) In Control Panel - System/Device Manager/Sound,video and game controllers:
    Check for 1-3 COMBO-2000 devices:
1 COMBO-2000 Voice Modem Wave device
(Optional - with Unimodem V only.
If you need unimodemV capabilities, you have to install Microsoft's UnimodemV).

Double click on the COMBO-2000 PCI Sound Chip.
    Choose Modem property page.
Press the "Test Now" button and make sure that you got "Tested OK" message.

 b) In Control Panel - Modems: check for your modem.

 c) In Control Panel - Multimedia: check "Show volume control on the task bar".

 d) If no Volume Control is installed, install it from the Control Panel with
"Add New Software" - Windows Setup/Multimedia.

 e) With Volume Control unmute Wave Device and ensure it is working by
playing any .wav file (e.g. from Control Panel - Sounds).

To Check that COMBO-2000 is working properly:

 a) Create a configuration (Direct to port or Modem) of Hyper Terminal.

 b) Run Hyper Terminal.
Type ATI1, ATI2 or ATI3 and make sure you receive the Modem IDs.
Dial any accessible phone number, and see that that phone rings.
Dial to another modem (ATDTxxx or via the dial button of the TAPI
interface) and see that a modem session is established.

If you have successfully connected, then Modio has been successfully
    installed.

b) Select "COMBO-2000 Uninstall"
c) Click on Add/Remove Button

---------------
5. Known issues
---------------

5.1	When using the following applications/online services, select the
appropriate modem name from the following modem list:
	1. AOL (America Online) - "Hayes Compatible (Default)"
	2. Juno - "Generic 33600 modem".
	3. BitWare - "Rockwell based voice modem"

5.2 On some systems, while installing the Windows95 OSR 2.1 for the first time, the
      system hangs (SCR # 904).
Workaround: Use a newer version of Windows95, or contact your vendor for a special
driver version that does not present this behavior.

5.3 Recording master control in Volume Control Applet -> Recording does not move.
This is deliberate behavior, since the only function of this slider is to
enable Mute All checkbox. (SCR #584).

5.4 With some microphones, the recorded sound might be too low. To increase volume, open
the Windows "Audio Mixer" application, click on the "Playback -> Advanced" button,
and set the "20 dB gain" check box. (SCR #534).

5.5 If for some reasons, the installation of the drivers could not be completed
successfully, a "PCI device audio " Error Icon will appear in Control
      Panel\System\Device Manager\Other devices.
If one tries to 'remove' it, the PC will stuck. (SCR #515).

Workaround: in the above case and other cases, do not try to remove such PCI Audio
drivers. Instead, choose Properties\Update Driver Tab and enter the correct
    	installation directory for this driver.

5.6 COMBO-2000 cards are not compatible with Main Boards of type "Octek Rhino 10 and 6VX".

------------------
6. Troubleshooting
------------------

If your modem does not work:

6.1	Double click on the CODEC device in Control Panel/Multimedia.
Select Modem property page, press the test button and watch the
	diagnostics.

6.2	if ERROR, NO DIALTONE or a similar message is received, check
whether COMBO-2000 is connected to the line.

6.3	If the typing response of the terminal is very slow check that
   	there is no interrupt conflict.

6.4	Check whether HyperTerminal is configured to the right port.
You can find the COMBO-2000 COM port number in Control Panel/Modems.
If not, press disconnect and change the port.

6.5	If the Audio Codec Device IRQ is above 7, Try configuring it IRQ 5
   	or 7

6.6	Try setting other DMA channels for the Audio Codec device
