PLEASE NOTE: ------ ---- 1. This disk contains the drivers for DOS and Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP and configuration utilities for DOS. Configuration utilities for Windows NT/2000/XP may be downloaded from the ATTO web site at: www.attotech.com or http://www.attotech.com/software/app1.html 2. For specific operating system installation instructions, see the Win_xx.txt file in the appropriate operating system directory. 3. ALL drivers must be operating at the same level. If you have an older ExpressPCI card, you will need to update the PC expansion ROM BIOS driver, the Mac driver and the flash-based configuration program to the current version. This can be accomplished by using the program FLASHX.EXE and batch file FLASH.BAT to load BOOTROM.SYS, EPCI_MAC.xxx, and CONFIG.COM into the FLASH memory on the card(s). These program files can be found in the DOS\UTILITY directory. Use the following command line: FLASH Note that this program can take up to a minute to run. Co-existance with Symbios Host Bus Adapters ------------ ---- ------- ---- --- -------- Read the following if you have other Host Bus Adapters (HBA) based on one the following Symbios (LSI Logic) SCSI chips: SYM53C875; SYM53C876; SYM53C895; SYM53C896; SYM53C1000; or SYM53C1010. The chip may be on an add-in HBA or on the motherboard. Starting with Release 1.68 of drivers for ExpressPCI cards, the ExpressPCI adapters have a new sub-system device ID. This sub-system device ID will prevent the LSI BIOS driver from taking control of an ExpressPCI adapter. This method works for the following models of ExpressPCI adapters: DC; UL3D; and UL3S. The PSC is not protected by this mechanism since it does not support sub-system ID. If you are upgrading to version 1.68 and you have one of these adapters you should perform the following procedure. 1. Boot into DOS. 2. Put the ExpressPCI Software Diskette #1 into the floppy. 3. CD to DOS\UTILITY on the Diskette. 4. Type the following command. nvram -u Respond to any prompts. 5. If you have a Raid kit type the following command after step 4 is complete. raidenb These steps will assign the new sub-system ID to your ExpressPCI adapter(s). NOTES: (1) If you previously had disabled a Symbios HBA with a version of the ExpressPCI driver prior to 1.36, you may want the Symbios driver to become re-enabled if you have any devices connected to it. You should have received a utility disk from your system provider with a utility to configure the on-board Symbios chips. Follow the instructions that came with that utility to re-enable the on-board Symbios SCSI adapter. (2) If you are using the ExpressPCI boot driver, you should use the ExpressPCI operating system drivers that came with your card in order to take full advantage of the Advanced Data Streaming and ExpressRAID capabilities of the ExpressPCI drivers. Follow the instructions that came with your ExpressPCI card to install these drivers under Windows 95 and Windows NT. (3) If you choose to use the Symbios driver instead of the ExpressPCI driver, you will not be able to utilize ExpressRAID groups. You should use the Symbios Operating System drivers to control both the on-board chip and the ExpressPCI card, otherwise unpredict- able system performance may result.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
