ATTO ExpressPCI Release Notes 2.11

Notes:
------

    1. Configuration utilities in the DOS\UTILITY directory must be run
under MS-DOS or Windows 95/98 from the command prompt. If you
do not have MS-DOS or Windows 95/98 on your system, you can create
a bootable floppy disk to boot to MS-DOS.

None of the DOS configuration utilities can be used in a DOS window
under the Windows operating systems since they require direct
access to the system hardware which is not available from within the
        protected mode environments of Windows.

    2. ALL drivers must be operating at the same level. If you have an
older ExpressPCI card, you will need to update the firmware, NVRAM,
PC expansion ROM BIOS driver, the Mac driver and the flash-based
configuration program to the current version. This can be
        accomplished with:

            A. Dos\Utility\Flash.bat in DOS.
            B. the Ctrl-Z BIOS utility.
            C. the ATTO Configuration Tool in Windows.

    3. Co-existance with LSI Logic Host Bus Adapters

Read the following if you have other Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) based on
the LSI53C1030 SCSI controller chip. The chip may be on
an add-in HBA or on the motherboard.

The ExpressPCI driver will not control an LSI based HBA that is not an
ExpressPCI adapter. The LSI driver will have to be loaded in order to
control any devices located on the LSI SCSI bus.

The ExpressPCI adapters are configured so that the LSI driver will
not try to control an ExpressPCI adapter.
