If you are controlling ONLY hard disks and you are satisfied with the drive
letter assignments made by the system BIOS, there is no need to load the
EXPRESS2.SYS driver for DOS.  If you have CD-ROM drives attached to the
ExpressPCI card, you will need to load the EXPRESS2.SYS driver in your
CONFIG.SYS file.  The following line loads the EXPRESS2.SYS driver:

	DEVICEHIGH=[<directory>\]EXPRESS2.SYS <switches>

Generally, this line should appear after the lines that load HIMEM.SYS and
EMM386.EXE.  The following switches are supported:

/!a		Do not load the ASPI driver.  If you only have disks attached
		to your adapters, then the ASPI driver will be of little use.
		Not loading the ASPI driver will save about 2250 bytes of
		memory.


/q		This option causes a confirmation query to be presented to the
		user before loading the driver.  The operator must respond with
		a 'y' or an 'n'.  A 'y' causes the driver to be loaded; an 'n'
		causes it to be discarded.


/!v		This option causes messages listing adapters found, drives
		found, and partitions found to be suppressed.


If you are not satisfied with the drive letter assignments made by the system
BIOS and the disk drive you want to be your primary (C:) drive is not controlled
by the ExpressPCI card, you can erase the Expansion ROM driver on the ExpressPCI
card (see instructions in FLASH.TXT in the \DOS\UTILITY directory) and load
the EXPRESS2.SYS driver in your CONFIG.SYS file.


CD-ROM Support:
---------------

If you have a CD-ROM attached to your ExpressPCI adapter you will need to load
the SYMCD.SYS driver in your CONFIG.SYS file AFTER the line that loads the
EXPRESS2.SYS driver.  You will also need to load MSCDEX.EXE in your AUTOEXEC.BAT
file.  MSCDEX.EXE is provided as part of DOS 6.22 (in the C:\DOS directory)
and as part of Windows 95 (in the C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND directory).  For example, 
assuming you have installed the entire contents of the installation disk in
directory C:\EXPRESS2, in CONFIG.SYS include the following lines (after the
lines for HIMEM.SYS and EMM386.EXE, if any):

	DEVICEHIGH=C:\EXPRESS2\DOS\EXPRESS2.SYS
	DEVICEHIGH=C:\EXPRESS2\DOS\SYMCD.SYS /D:MSCD001

and in AUTOEXEC.BAT:

	LH MSCDEX.EXE /D:MSCD001

If you are preparing a bootable floppy for which you want access to the CD-ROM
on your system, copy the files EXPRESS2.SYS, SYMCD.SYS and MSCDEX.EXE to the
floppy and enter the following lines into CONFIG.SYS:

	DEVICE=EXPRESS2.SYS
	DEVICE=SYMCD.SYS /D:MSCD001

and add the following line in AUTOEXEC.BAT:

	MSCDEX.EXE /D:MSCD001


SYMCD.SYS Command Line Options:
-------------------------------

The SYMCD.SYS device driver has several optional functions available
which are enabled via switches on the command line.  No spaces are allowed
in specifying these command line options.  Spaces are required between
different command line options.

    /ASK

        This option prompts the user at system boot time whether to load
        the SYMCD.SYS driver or not.  For example, the line in CONFIG.SYS
        that loads SYMCD.SYS would look like this:

            DEVICE=<path>SYMCD.SYS /D:MSCD001 /ASK


    /UPTOLUN=

        This option is used to support multiple LUNs (Logical Unit Numbers)
        per Target ID on the SCSI bus. It is needed to support CD-ROM
        changers that hold several CDs at one time, such as the Pioneer
        DRM604x.  For example, the line in CONFIG.SYS that loads SYMCD.SYS
        would look like this:

            DEVICE=<path>SYMCD.SYS /D:MSCD001 /UPTOLUN=x

        where 'x' is in the range of 0 to 7. It uses LUN 0 through LUN x to
        assign a separate drive letter for each of the x+1 CDs in the CD
        magazine. The SYMCD.SYS driver defaults to supporting LUN 0 only.


    /NOBCD

        This Option is used to support the Trantor Music Box CD audio
        application.  Using this option prevents the track numbers from being
        converted to BCD (Binary Coded Decimal).  If this option is used
        with CD audio applications such as Adaptec's cdplayer, Corel's
        cd-audio, or Future Domain's cdaudio, track numbers >16 are not
        reported correctly because these applications require binary track
        numbers.  For example, the line in CONFIG.SYS that loads SYMCD.SYS
        would look like this:
