| INTRODUCTION  |
 ---------------
The installation for Compex LinkPort/UE202-B USB adapter in Windows XP is
menu driven through Windows interface. The directory structure provided on
the driver diskette has been setup for automatic installation.

Refer to Microsoft Windows XP manuals for further details.

  WINDOWS XP Installation
 
    INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:

  Most system comes with pre-installed Windows XP.
  This installation steps assumed your PC has Windows pre-installed.

 1) If your PC or notebook is already started up, plug the USB cable of 
     LinkPort/UE202-B USB adapter into the USB port of your PC or notebook. 
   
    
  2) When Windows 'Add Hardware Wizard' will automatically detect and found 
     the new USB device and display the message,

                    " USB 10/100 LAN "

     Insert LinkPort/UE202-B USB driver disk in floppy drive A and click NEXT button.

  3) The Add New Hareware Wizard screen display the following:

         What would you like to do ?
        _/ - Automatic search for a better driver (Recommended)
         o - Specific the location on the drive (Advanced)

      Recommended to select the automatic search option. To continue click Next button. 
                    
  4) Windows then let you mark on one or more of the following

        _/ - Floppy Disk Drive
         o - CR-ROM
         o - Specifiy a location

      Check the "Floppy Disk Drive" option and click NEXT,

     * Hint:- If you have not inserted the driver disk after you click NEXT,
              insert the WLU11 USB driver disk and click BACK button to back
              step once then click NEXT button again to read the disk.

   5) Windows will display the following;

	       "Compex LinkPort/UE202-B USB To Fast Ethernet Adapter"      
              
        Click NEXT, to start copy the driver.

      When Windows prompt the message,
        " LinkPort/UE202-B has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its
          compatibility with Windows XP. etc.. etc.. "
      
      Click 'Continue Anyway ' to proceed with the installation.

   6) Windows will contiune to copy all related files from Windows XP
      CDROM. Upon finished, click the Finish button. 
      Installation of Compex LinkPort/UE202-B USB adapter is now completed.
  
   7) Restart Windows and the device is now ready for networking.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
