NetWare v3.11 ODI Server Driver RL100NW.LAN This Ethernet driver is for NetWare v3.11 File Servers and complies to Novell ODI (Open Data-Link Interface) Specifications. 2. Installation Hardware and Software Requirements: A. Hardware Requirements: o An IBM-compatible personal computer with 80386 or higher microprocessor with PCI bus. o RL100TX/10Base PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter B. Firmware Requirements: o Fully compliant Rev. 2.0, and 2.1 PCI BIOS supplied with the PC. 3. Supplied Files: --------------------------------------------------------------------- README.TXT This File --------------------------------------------------- RL100NW.LAN RL100TX Novell NetWare ODI server driver. --------------------------------------------------- ETHERTSM.NLM Novell TSM needed to run the ODI server driver --------------------------------------------------- MSM31X.NLM Novell MSM needed to run the ODI server driver with NetWare v3.1X --------------------------------------------------- PATCHMAN.NLM Novell module needed in NetWare v3.11 in addition to MSM31X.NLM --------------------------------------------------- LSLENH.NLM Novell module needed in NetWare v3.11 in addition to MSM31X.NLM --------------------------------------------------- MONITOR.NLM NetWare server MONITOR module for NetWare v3.11 --------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. Installing Software: Below are guidelines for installing the server driver, RL100NW.LAN, in a NetWare 3.11 environment. a. In the NetWare v3.11 directory, e.g. C:\SERVER.311 Copy all the files from NW3.11 directory of distribution disk to the NetWare boot directory in drive C. A:> Copy A:\NW3.11\*.* C:\SERVER.311 b. From the NetWare boot directory,\SERVER.311, run SERVER to start NetWare. e.g. C:\SERVER.311> Server.exe <enter> c. At the NetWare prompt :, run LOAD INSTALL to add the following lines to the AUTOEXEC.NCF file. *Note:- Mount the SYS: volume if it is not mounted automatically. : LOAD INSTALL <Enter> select option "Edit AUTOEXEC.NCF file" then add the following lines, LOAD C:\SERVER.311\PATCHMAN LOAD C:\SERVER.311\LSLENH LOAD C:\SERVER.311\MSM31X LOAD C:\SERVER.311\ETHERTSM LOAD C:\SERVER.311\RL100NW PORT=nnnn BIND IPX RL100NW net=<network cable address> press ESC to save and quit INSTALL. d. In Netware Server 3.11, the default "PACKET RECEIVE BUFFERS" is 10 while the PACKET RECEIVE BUFFERS requirement of RL100NW.LAN is more than that. For the system to run properly, the following line must be added in STARTUP.NCF file and restart the server. "SET MINIMUM PACKET RECEIVE BUFFERS = 150" e. When the NetWare server comes up again, Rl100TX-PCI will be ready for operation. Manually configuring the NetWare v3.11 server ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ At the NetWare prompt :, load the driver for RL100TX-PCI card, : LOAD C:\SERVER.311\PATCHMAN <Enter> : LOAD C:\SERVER.311\LSLENH <Enter> : LOAD C:\SERVER.311\MSM31X <Enter> : LOAD C:\SERVER.311\ETHERTSM <Enter> : LOAD C:\SERVER.311\RL100NW PORT=nnnn <Enter> : BIND IPX Rl100NW net=<network cable address> <Enter> Or load NLM file seperately one at a time type the following:- : LOAD C:\NW3.11\RL100NW PORT=nnnn <Enter> : BIND IPX RL100NW net=<network cable address> <Enter> The Netware 3.11 server is now properly setup. The frame type by default is Ethernet_802.3 Below is an example to change or load additional frame type support. : LOAD A:\NW3.11\RL100NW PORT=nnnn FRAME=Ethernet_802.2Download Driver Pack
