This diskette contains the Windows 2K/XP/2K3 driver for both
the 3ware Escalade 7000 and 8000 Series ATA RAID Controllers.
It can be used to install the driver during Windows Setup or
after adding the controller to an existing system.

INSTALL PROCEDURE:
Refer to the User's Guide for installation instruction

UPGRADE PROCEDURE:

If you currently have an Escalade 7000 or 8000 controller running on your system, follow this procedure to upgrade your driver:

1)Update the driver using through device manager. You must choose the "Display a list of known drivers" option instead of using the default "Search for a suitable driver" option on the "Upgrade Device Driver Wizard" dialog box in order for Windows to use the new INF file instead of the previous one.

2) Remove the service driver by running "Add/Remove Programs" from the Control Panel, then select to remove the "3ware Escalade Service".

3)Run the utility tw_esp.exe (Enable Shutdown Protection). This is necessary to prevent an unclean shutdown when rebooting if the user is running RAID1, RAID5, RAID10.

4)Reboot.
